Career Center's Job Interview Breakdown
The career center, led by Amy Sindelar, has done an excellent job presenting us with the types of job interviews we will encounter when we enter the competitive job market. She explained the difference between traditional and behavioral interviews and how to conquer each one. The traditional interview seeks to find out what you think you bring to the company and asks questions like "why will you be a good asset to the company" and "why do you want to work here?" The behavioral interview, however, focuses on past job performance as a future indicator of your performance. The final idea Ms. Sindelar presented was to make sure we send a "thank you" letter to our interviewer. She noted that this could be the action that will give us the overall advantage in obtaining the job.
