This pathetic exchange nicely illustrates the points Mano has been making about the incestuous relationship between the mainstream media and the state.

The poor dear is aghast at the suggestion that the government might be trying to control the internet. "The U.S government hasn't claimed responsibility for that," she exclaims. Ron Paul's laughter says it all, doesn't it?

Is she really that naive, or is this a scripted act? Did CNN deliberately hire her because she is telegenic and nothing else, or have they made a conscious decision to attempt to portray Ron Paul - one of the very few sitting officeholders to have spoken up - as a nutter? Either way, they are a disgrace to the First Amendment freedoms that protect both them and Assange.
