The power that water has to destroy things by simply flooding, imagine the sheer force of being hit by water travelling at such speed and in such volume, no surprise that it can carry houses, vehicles and trees away. We can't prepare for natures destruction because it comes out of the blue but what we can do is make sure that we can are prepared for the aftermath of destruction with plans in place to help those who are homeless, need medical assistance etc.
