Non-religious Aussies

Jerry Coyne flags an interesting report that says that the level of disbelief in god and religion in Australia approaches the high level of Scandinavian countries.

The high level of religiosity of the US is becoming more and more of an outlier among developed countries. This kind of anachronism cannot last.

On the official 2006 census, 34.7% of New Zealanders said they had no religion, about a 5% increase on the previous census. It would be interesting to see if that increases again on the next census.

I would imagine the numbers who still identify as (predominately) Christian but who are non-practising would be much higher still.
