Workers in Delta and Northwest back
To furloughed pilots and flight attendants, two airline companies Delta and Northwest give them good news. That is both airlines offer jobs to hundreds of furloughed pilots and flight attendants. In fact, both Delta and Northwest shrank their flying capacity after entering bankruptcy protection. For this month, Delta is flying 12% fewer seats and Northwest is flying about 8% fewer than in September 2005. To boost revenue, Delta tries to shift many long-range jets from domestic to international routes. Also both Delta and Northwest are taking on new planes in order to replace old ones and handle expansion.
Good news for both airlines is they may exit bankruptcy protection in 2007.
