Case Western Reserve University trustees contribute nearly $20 million to university

Members of the governing body of Case Western Reserve University contribute more than time, counsel, and expertise. They also contribute money to support the goals they endorse and value.

The Trustee Vision Acceleration Campaign has garnered widespread support. This leadership initiative established in 2004 is designed to jumpstart specific programs and projects the trustees and university administration have committed to either creating or sustaining. All trustees, including past and emeriti trustees, are encouraged to contribute to the Trustee Vision Acceleration Campaign.

In just over two years, contributions to date are about $20 million.

These resources have supported existing programs such as the Frank "Doc" Kelker Scholarship Fund for minority students; the Presidential Fellows Program that brings top scholars and professionals from the Cleveland area to teach Case students; and the Case Concert Celebration, an annual community concert featuring the Cleveland Orchestra. Donations to the fund also support current and upcoming capital projects such as the athletic fields at the North Residential Village, the Campus Center, and the Alumni House.

While the Trustee Vision Acceleration Campaign supports special projects and programs, the Trustee Annual Fund provides resources for the regular activities of the university. Since 1996, the board of trustees has contributed $2.7 million to this fund. The university allocates these funds each year to a designated program or initiative such as diversity, athletics, or the Case Library.

About the board

Frank N. Linsalata (CIT '63), who first joined the board in 1999, chairs the 36-member-group that includes 31 alumni. Members provide oversight, direction, and support to the university's physical and financial assets and overall long-term welfare, as well as counsel and leadership to the university administration.
