My Overall Opinions for MGMT250

It was a great opportunity to take MGMT250 on this semester. I got new friends, knowledge, and management skills. At the last class, everybody argued what s/he felt about highest points on this class and a person we would like to recognize. My highest point was definitely HR Simulation project with Team Coors. I could learn a lot about Human Resourses. If I did not take this class, then I would not have met none of my team members. I could say that this is a sort of destiny. The person I would like to recognize Jen, our team leader. She had a lot of responsibility to lead us and also have a sense of humor. I surely say that she is the best leader I have ever had. All opportunities I could get were due to this class.
I would like to thank Prof. Powley, Prof. Piderit, Tracy, Carrer Center, my team members, and all of my class mates.

Annual Report 2

We roughly knew that our simulation was going fine and did not have a big change from last period, so we concentrated on the part of challenge more. Our team was quite relaxing; it does not mean we were frivolous. We sometimes become serious to solve problems and flexibly made decisions. All team members were friendly with each other, so the atmosphere during the meeting was quite calm. What we challenged was not to be too serious. Seriousness is quite important for most things, but if it is too serious, then no good result would be produced. Actually, it worked well and finally got a big prize "Highest Morale, Lowest Turnover" as I wrote on my blog.

ECI Assessment

I did ECI Assessment for my team members. There were many questions and took me little long because of some vocabularies. Actually, the questions were quite detailed, so I think it was a good way to assess people. Honestly, all members on my team did very good jobs, and it did not make me consider that much to pick the best answers.

Team evaluation is very important in my opinion. People often do not want to say anything directly to others, but everybody needs to know what s/he is supposed to change. At this time, only third person can see what we are doing, and tell how I should behave. Including this assessment, we have done three different kinds of evaluations. The result should obviously let me know how I was doing, and what I need.

I am going to pay more attention to either assessment or evaluation when I get into a business society and have an opportunity to do it. I appreciate to notice this importance.

Big Prize

At the last class, Team Coors, our HR simulation team, got a prize of "Highest Morale, Lowest Turnover." Our goal was increasing morale 80 points and decreasing turnover 5 percent. To accomplish our goals, we had meeting at least once a week out of class, and all team members attended almost everytime. There were many possibilities to make our firm either better or worse, and we seriously discussed it. Sometimes, we got a very good result, and sometimes, got a horrible numbers. I think the best reason we could achieve our purpose was all of us had a positive feeling to make our simulation better. Even if we got a good result, we still tried to make it improved. I loved our team and team members. They produced me a lot of fun time and provided me much management knowledge. It was a truly good time to have a HR simulation with Team Coors!

Learning Plan Feedback

We had a learning plan feedback on November 17th. I discussed the feedback with Valbona Bushi, and she gave me a lot of suggestion. Actually, my writing skill is not quite satisfying since I have many structure mistakes. Our TA, Tracy, suggested me to concentrate on and pay attention to my grammar. The feedback section we had was quite helpful for me because an American student checked my paper and gave me an advice. I appreciate Valbona to suggest me to fix some mistakes. I am quite sure that I will be able to hand a better learning plan and make Tracy excited to read it.
