How can I make Japanese universities better?

There is a very serious problem among Japanese universities today.

Students do not study at all!

The Japanese education system is basically completely wrong. It is known that the exams to enter universities are strongly difficult, and senior grade students at high schools work very hard. However, as soon as they pass the exams, they stop studying and start going out with their friends. I do not think having fun with friends is bad, but they should not stop studying. This is because of the education system. Japanese universities offer and assign students to work much less than American ones do. University students most likely need to study an hour the day before either midterm or final, and pass the classes. Don’t you think this is strange? I strongly believe it does. University students are supposed to work hard, and earn as much knowledge as possible, but they think that universities are just for fun, and they do not have to study anymore because they already worked a lot before they enrolled the universities. Everybody notices this fact, but companies never stop looking at the names of the universities when they hire new employees, and make an easy decision that students graduated from famous universities are good workers. It is completely wrong. Many students did not graduate from well-known schools have a lot of talent and knowledge for business. Because of this stereotype, Japanese business society is losing the opportunities to have talented and smart people. To solve that, Universities need to make students work more and more effectively and flexibly. Japanese people originally work very hard and never stop working until they retire, so they should study if they are assigned. After that, companies start hiring them, the name of the universities becomes more famous, and students would be more educated. At this time, both Japanese universities and economy would be grown up.

To make a good strategy, universities need to have good workers. To get suitable workers, universities have to hire employees very carefully. At this time, HR officers would be very necessary pick right people. I hope I could obtain this kind of knowledge from the class.

Interesting information. This is something I did not know about Japanese universities. I once heard someone say during high school here in the USA, and I quote, "In Japan, high school students work harder than college students. It's the opposite of here, where college is much easier than high school." At the time, I blew it off thinking it wasn't fact.

But having read this, I'm now more curious about the subject than ever before.
