In these modern times, most college campuses are proportionately reflecting the actual ethnic makeup of the country's population. However, the circumstances before a minority student's college life can make higher education financially challenging.

We provide assistance to help the brightest students with their expenses to ensure a smooth transition into this country's multicultural job force. </summary

<u>Submit</u> Recipients will be required to submit other awards granted and supply their school's financial aid award letters. Scholarship checks are sent directly to your home address, made payable to the school on your behalf. Your scholarship can be used for tuition, fees, books, and supplies.

>The Gilman Scholarship Program seeks to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go. </summary

<u>Qualifications</u> Program Purpose: The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program aims to broaden the student population that studies abroad by supporting undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints. The Gilman Scholarship Program aims to support a diverse range of students who have been traditionally under-represented in study abroad, including but not limited to: * Students with high financial need * Students interested in studying in diverse countries, especially those outside of Western Europe and Australia * Students attending community colleges * Students with diverse ethnic backgrounds * Students from diverse range of institutions including two-year, four-year, public, private, minority-serving, etc. * Students with disabilities All recipients are required to carry out a Follow-on Project that promotes international education and the Gilman Scholarship Program at the students' home institution or in their home community. The Follow-on Project Proposal, Statement of Purpose essay and academic progress are criteria that are closely considered during the selection process. 
<u>Deadline</u> The application deadline for Fall 2010 is April 2010. All Applicants are notified of the status of their application via email. Study Abroad and Financial Aid Advisors will be notified of scholarship recipients via email. 
<u>Submit</u> There are four components to the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Application: 1. Online student section. 2. Online study abroad advisor certification. 3. Online financial aid advisor certification. 4. Three paper copies of the student's transcript/s.

>The Lloyd Trotter African American Forum Scholarship program is funded by GE employees and matching fund contributions are generously provided by the GE Foundation.  The scholarship is awarded to rising juniors and seniors majoring in specified technical disciplines attending an accredited university geographically located East of the Mississippi River (Regions I – IV).  To qualify you must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  The scholarship is named after Lloyd G. Trotter, President and CEO of GE Industrial Systems, who is recognized for his on-going commitment to volunteerism and mentoring.$2500 Scholarship

>This scholarship epitomizes NSBE’s Mission Statement to increase the number of Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.  It is supported solely by NSBE members and private donations.  The number of Fulfilling the Legacy Scholarships to be awarded will be determined by the amount of money donated by the membership and contributors.  Sixty percent of the fund is allocated to scholarship awards; the remaining forty percent will go into an ongoing scholarship endowment.
