Please go to www.abet.org for more information. &#226;&#8364;&#162; The applicant is in a position to accept the scholarship in the school year for which it is being awarded. &#226;&#8364;&#162; The minimum GPA is 3.0/4.0 for upperclass applicants. &#226;&#8364;&#162; The applicant is not the current recipient of a renewable SWE Scholarship (i.e. is not already designated to receive a SWE scholarship payment in the coming academic year.) &#226;&#8364;&#162; The applicant must be a full time student, except for reentry applicants. &#226;&#8364;&#162; The applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident of the US for some scholarships. >Progress is still being made in making Cleveland the home of the first freshwater wind farm anywhere in the world. The Cleveland Plan Dealer on Friday, June 18, 2010, wrote an 
<a title="GE, local leaders strike deal to spur development of offshore wind turbine market | cleveland.com" href="http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2010/06/ge_local_leaders_strike_deal_to_spur_development_of_offshore_wind_turbine_market.html">article</a> highlighting the partnership established with GE. The PD even posted a copy of the 
<a href="http://media.cleveland.com/business_impact/other/Memo.pdf">memorandum of understanding</a>, minus the "trade secrets". The 
<a href="http://energy.case.edu/">Great Lakes Energy Institute</a> at Case Western Reserve University has been a partner on much of the previous and ongoing research.</div

>The National Alliance for Hispanic Health (the Alliance) has established the Alliance/Merck Ciencia (Science) Hispanic Scholars Program, a new partnership to improve Hispanic student access to higher education and degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).</summary

<u>Qualifications</u> 
<strong>Alliance/Merck Ciencia Scholars -High School Seniors:</strong> Up to $20,000 in scholarship ($5,000 each of four years of college) and up to $22,500 in summer internship stipends ($7,500 each of three summers) for students who meet the following eligibility criteria: * A student of Hispanic heritage. * A senior attending a high school in Brownsville, TX; Elizabeth, NJ; or Los Angeles, CA. * Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). * In good academic standing in high school. * Have applied or intend to apply for full-time study at an accredited college/university that grants a bachelor's degree in a STEM field (proof of enrollment will be required before disbursement of scholarship funds). * Committed to major in a STEM field in college. 
<strong>Ciencia National Scholarships - College STEM Majors</strong> A $2,000 one-time scholarship for students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories and Puerto Rico who meet the following eligibility criteria: &#194;&#183; A student of Hispanic heritage. &#194;&#183; In good academic standing and enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university. &#194;&#183; Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). &#194;&#183; Are a declared major in a STEM discipline and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field including Bachelor's degrees offered in partnerships between community colleges and four-year institutions.

<u>Qualifications</u> * Undergraduate students in the U.S. with Korean heritage * Major in science, engineering, or related fields * KSEA membership (Student may apply for KSEA membership at the time of scholarship application.) * Previous recipients of any KSEA scholarship are not eligible. 
<u>Deadline</u> February 16th. 
<u>Submit</u> All application materials must be submitted ONLINE with the exception of recommendation letters and school transcripts. 1. KSEA Scholarship information and online application form are available at http://scholarship.ksea.org/. The online application will be open on 12/15/2009 and closed on 2/16/2009. 2. An essay on one of the following topics (500-1500 words in the online application): (a) My experience in volunteer activities (b) Meaning of Korean heritage in my life (c) My vision on science and technology cooperation between the US and Korea 3. Official transcripts from up to two colleges attended: at least three college semester transcripts are required. For college freshmen, at least one college semester transcript, high school transcripts, and ACT/SAT score report are required. Your school can send soft or hard copies of your transcripts to KSEA (admin@ksea.org electronically or mail to: 1952 Gallows Rd., Suite 300, Vienna, VA 22182). 4. Two recommendation letters: (recommendation letters can be submitted online directly by the references.) * One from college academic advisors or counselors.
