The Software Center has updated Webdrive to version 9.14. This version features improved Windows 7 support and other enhancements and bug fixes. Webdrive 9.14 is available for Windows only and is a free download to all Case students, faculty or staff. The Software Center has updated Matlab to version R2010a. Matlab is available for downloading to all CWRU students, faculty and staff for Windows, Macintosh and Linux. To run Matlab, an active network connection is required so the program can communicate with the license server. Matlab is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. If you are installing Matlab on a Windows machine, the installer will automatically install the correct version. Labview on the CWRU Software Center has been updated to the Spring 2010 version, which is now compatible with Windows 7. Labview is available to all CWRU faculty and staff as site licensed software. There is no charge for a license, media may be borrowed for two weeks at no cost if a speedtype number is included with the purchase. In the event the media kit is not returned, the speedtype provided at the time of the order will be charged $75.00. The Software Center has updated Wolfram Workbench to version 2.0. Wolfram Workbench is available to all Case students, faculty and staff and runs on Windows, Macintosh or Linux. In order to use Wolfram Workbench you must have either Mathematica, gridMathematica or webMatehmatica installed on your machine. Wolfram Workbench is a state-of-the-art integrated development environment that provides sophisticated code editing, navigation, and project management tools for enterprise-class development and deployment. WebDrive on the Software Center has been updated to version 9.11 and a 64-bit version has been added to the download. When the installer is run, you will be prompted to choose between installing the 32-bit or 64-bit version. WebDrive 9.11 is available for Windows to all Case students, faculty and staff. Endnote X3 is now available on the Software Center to all Case students, faculty or staff for a $59 license fee. The Software is available to both Windows and Macintosh users and is a shared, concurrent use license. There are 20 concurrent use licenses of Endnote available, managed by the Keyserver license manager. Due to the popularity of Endnote, there is a chance a license may not be available for you to use. Users who have purchased a license to a previous version of Endnote from the Software Center may upgrade to version X3 at no charge. Simply go to the Software Center and click on the “Endnote X3†link to receive the new version. OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) is now available on the ITS Software Center for all Case Western Reserve University faculty, staff and students. The menu description will be “Apple Software Collection for Faculty & Staff†or “Apple Software Collection for Studentsâ€. The Apple Software Collection includes the OS upgrade in addition to iWork and iLife. You will download one installer and then select which (or all) of the products you want. Please note: Apple has changed its licensing strategy which no longer allows the use of net installs as you may be accustomed to. Because of this change, the new operating system software is being distributed as an .iso disk image file. This file type requires users to burn the file to a DVD- DL(dual layer) before the operating system can be installed. Complete step-by-step instructions are available in the software center. We strongly recommend that you verify that you have a complete current backup of data before installing OS X (10.6) Snow Leopard. Click here to go to the ITS Software Center now. The Software Center has upgraded Adobe Designer to Adobe LiveCycle Designer 9.0 ES2. The software is available for Windows only and is open to all Case students, faculty and staff as a free download. Using Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2 software, you can create form and document templates that combine high-fidelity dynamic presentation with sophisticated XML data handling. Documents and forms adjust when merged with data to accommodate the content and volume by including or excluding design elements, growing to create space, and paginating automatically. LiveCycle Designer ES2 provides intuitive graphical design capabilities that make it easy to create and deploy templates without deep technical knowledge. Identity Finder 4 Personal Home Edition is available to the Case campus from the Software Center. Case students may receive a personal home license at no cost. Please note that only one free license is available to students. Case faculty and staff may purchase Identity Finder for personal home use at a 50% discount. All Identity Finder Personal Home Use licenses are issued from the Identity Finder website. The download link on the Software Center will take you to the correct site. Please note that a valid Case Email address using the “case.edu†domain must be entered when ordering Identity Finder or the order will not be processed. Right now, social security numbers, credit cards, bank accounts, passwords, and other highly sensitive personal information are sitting idly on your computer leaving you and your family exposed to identity theft. In an effort to better manage a limited pool of Matlab licneses, the Matlab license manager will now enforce a 4 hour timeout. Please note that this will not affect your ability to do extended computations. The idle timer starts when MATLAB finishes running a command and is waiting for user input. Therefore, if a MATLAB session is actively executing commands either interactively due to user input or over the course of an extended computation the idle timer will not be activated.

Windows 7 Ultimate Is Now Available On The Software Center Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade is now available on the ITS Software Center for all Case Western Reserve University students. The new operating system software is being distributed as an .iso disk image file. This file type requires users to burn the file to a DVD before the operating system can be installed. The DVD that is created is bootable to allow a clean install if it is necessary. For your convenience, information is included with the download to obtain a free .iso image burning software if your computer cannot create that file type currently. Please note: An in-place upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate can only be done from Windows Vista Ultimate, Business, Home Basic, or Home Premium. Any other version of Windows will require a clean install, which results in the loss of all programs and data from your computer. We strongly recommend that you verify that you have a complete current backup of data before installing Windows 7. Windows 7 is the latest version of Windows and was designed by Microsoft to simplify your everyday tasks, work the way you want, and make new things possible. Simulation Studio 1.5 for SAS JMP for Windows is now available on the Software Center for Case students, faculty and staff. Simulation Studio is an add-on product for SAS JMP and requires that SAS JMP is also installed. You may download Simulation Studio from the Software Center for free. Please read the installation and activation instructions that are included with the installer carefully. The product activation requires you to point to your SAS JMP installation the first time Simulation Studio is run. This process is illustrated in the included instructions. SAS Simulation Studio is a SAS application that uses discrete-event simulation to model and analyze systems. Simulation Studio is based on the Java programming language and provides the following user interfaces: • A graphical user interface that requires no programming and provides all the tools for building, executing, and analyzing discrete-event simulation models. • A programmatic interface that enables you to run models in batch mode.
