Graduate Chemistry Program at Lehigh
The Chemistry Department at Lehigh University is accepting graduate applications for the Fall 2012 academic year. The Chemistry graduate program offers cutting edge, multi-disciplinary research opportunities for students in a supportive, small program atmosphere. We offer a competitive stipend ($25,000/year) and full tuition waiver ($13,000/year). We have research opportunities in the traditional areas of chemistry in addition to specializations in surface science, reaction mechanisms, inorganic clusters, materials, biophysical chemistry and nanoparticles. For more information about the Ph.D. program in Chemistry, please click on this link. If you would like to speak to the graduate adviser about our program, please email Professor Rebecca Miller.
The Chemistry Department is participating in the annual College of Arts and Sciences Open House on Saturday, October 29, 2011. The event runs from 10 am – 1 pm with registration beginning at 9:15 am. This is a great opportunity to meet faculty and students in the Chemistry Department, tour the research labs and chat one-on-one with faculty in the department. In addition, all students attending the Open House will receive a graduate application fee waiver (worth $75). Students register for the Open House through this online link. If you can’t attend the Open House event, but would like to visit campus and meet with Chemistry Department faculty at another time, please email Professor Miller.
Graduate Programs at RIT
Offered jointly by Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and the University of Rochester (UR) School of Medicine and Dentistry. Students can matriculate at either institution, but will attend classes at both campuses and will receive the same diploma bearing the seals of RIT and the UR School of Medicine and Dentistry. This program is based on in-class instruction and is designed to train healthcare or computing professionals in the design, creation, management, and research aspects of advanced health information technology. Applications are currently being accepted for the start of the program in September 2011.
MS Sustainable Systems
The MS degree in sustainable systems focuses on sustainable production systems, which create goods and services using processes that are non-polluting; conserving of energy and natural resources; economically viable; and safe and healthful for workers, communities, and consumers. Coursework and research takes a systems level and interdisciplinary approach to solving sustainability problems, as opposed to single disciplinary and locally optimized approaches destined to yield marginal positive impacts.
Master of Architecture pending NYS Approval
The master of architecture program is designed for students with a broad range of interests and backgrounds who are interested in studying architecture at the graduate level, but whose undergraduate degrees were obtained in fields outside of architecture. The program’s curriculum has been shaped by the global emphasis of sustainability, factors that impact urbanism, and the hands-on application of the principles of design and technology on materials and construction.
