This internship will be a full time, paid position with a duration of approximately 3 months. The Center for Reproductive Medicine at Cleveland Clinic has an exciting summer internship opportunity for highly motivated, academically oriented medical or undergraduate students interested in a career in medicine.
The Center for Reproductive Medicine is a joint research program of the Cleveland Clinic Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute and the Ob/Gyn & Women’s Health Institute. Our Center is rated as a leading center of excellence at the world-class Cleveland Clinic, which is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's best hospitals, ranked as No. 4 in the country.
The Center’s summer internship offers an opportunity for students interested in gaining a research experience in human fertility and reproductive biology and the opportunity to working with world-renowned scientists and researchers. Members of our staff publish frequently in our field’s most respected journals, are invited guest speakers at important scientific/ medical meetings and courses around the world and are active in the leading professional societies in the exciting field of human reproductive medicine.

The program’s goal is to encourage students to consider a career in medicine, whether in the reproductive sciences or another specialty of their choosing. To this end, we have designed the summer internship to offer students a wide range of high quality experiences. During this eight-week program, participants will:
- Work alongside reproductive scientists and clinicians on interesting research projects in a real laboratory setting
- Interact with reproductive endocrinologists, gynecologists, male infertility specialists and urologists and observe them in clinics or surgery
- Participate in the writing of research articles, systematic reviews and/ or invited book chapters in the field of reproductive endocrinology, assisted reproduction and/ or male & female infertility
- Participate in daily lectures, research meetings and group discussions
Students will develop an understanding of how reproductive research is conducted. Participants will also learn how to:
- Present research results in departmental meetings
- Prepare and presenting PowerPoint talks at research conferences
- Perform various data compilation and analysis techniques
- Hone their public speaking skills

Our selection procedure for summer internship positions is highly competitive. Interested applicants should submit the following:
- Recent curriculum vitae/resume
- At least two recent letters of recommendation from advisors, teachers, or persons who have a firsthand knowledge of the candidate
- Address and telephone number for a personal interview
- A 500-word personal statement
- Proof of medical insurance
- A letter stating that the participant has the necessary funding to support him/herself for the during the 8-week program (the internship is unfunded and no financial support is available.)
- An application processing fee of USD 100.00 in the form of a money order or certified bank check only - payable to “2010 Internship in Reproductive Medicine”. This fee is nonrefundable.
- A nonrefundable course fee of USD 1500.00 will be required from candidates selected for internship. This fee may be submitted as a money order or certified bank check (no personal checks) made payable to “2010 Internship in Reproductive Medicine”

NASA History Division Summer 2009 Internships
The NASA History Division is seeking undergraduate and graduate students for summer 2009 internships. The History Division maintains archival materials to answer research questions from NASA personnel, journalists, scholars, students at all levels and others from around the world. The division also edits and publishes several books and monographs each year. It maintains a large number of Web sites on NASA history.
Students of all majors are welcome to apply. While detailed prior knowledge of the aeronautics and space fields is not necessary, a keen interest and some basic familiarity with these topics are needed. Strong research, writing and editing skills are essential. Experience with computers, especially HTML formatting, is a plus.
Intern projects are flexible. Typical projects include handling a wide variety of information requests, editing historical manuscripts, doing research and writing biographical sketches, updating and creating Web pages, and identifying and captioning photos.

2009 NASA Planetary Biology Internship
The NASA Planetary Biology Internship Program provides opportunities each year for nine or 10 interns to undertake research at NASA research centers, NASA-sponsored laboratories, and academic institutions. The pursuit of such studies is expected to broaden the base of this new science by encouraging people in many different fields to take part.
Graduate students accepted in the PBI program will be expected to carry out research with a NASA-sponsored investigator for eight weeks, usually during the summer months. Typical programs in which interns may become involved include: global ecology and remote sensing; microbial ecology and bio-mineralization; advanced life support; and origin and early evolution of life.

NASA Undergraduate Student Research Project Fall 2009 Session
NASA’s Undergraduate Student Research Project is currently accepting applications for 15-week fall 2009 internships. These internships offer students the opportunity to work alongside NASA scientists and engineers at NASA's field centers, laboratories and test facilities.
Applicants must be rising sophomores, juniors or seniors with a 3.0 GPA. They must have an academic major or course work concentration in engineering, math, computer science, or physical or life sciences. Participants work on practical problems that will be applied in aerospace or on future NASA missions. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

The job description is unreasonably broad and no one could be qualified in all of these areas. There are a number of projects in play and the intention is to select a bright candidate and steer them in their area of interest, programming, electronics, instrument coupling, etc. They are willing to accept someone for 8 hrs/day for 5 days/week(full time /temp), or some reasonable portion of that, such as 4hrs/day for 5 days/wk or 8hrs/day on Tues Thurs...etc.

The Center for Neuroscience will offer up to 14 internships of research-intensive training for qualified undergraduate students. Research oppoliunities incorporate molecular- to systems-level
analyses of nervous-system function, which include projects in sensory, cognitive, and behavioral neuroscience; neural injury and neurodegeneration; and neuropsychiatric disease. Interns are expected to complete a well-defined research project under the supervision of a Center faculty member. Trainees will receive a $3,000 stipend plus a $1000 housing allowance.
The program will run from May 2S-July 31, 2009. On-line applications will be accepted from students currently enrolled at a college or university in the U.S., who have completed their 2nd or 3rd year. Preference will be given to those with a strong background in biology, chemistry, engineering, neuroscience, physics, or psychology, with an overall OPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants are required to submit their curriculum vitae, official college transcripts, and 2 letters of recommendation. The application deadline is February 2, 2009, with the research awards to be announced no later than March 6, 2009.
