WordNerds Discussion Group
Tuesday's Case Daily announcement about the WordNerds listserv and discussion group brought in a number of inquiries.
In order to offer more information to those of you who are interested, I thought I would share the following messages, as provided by core members of the group.
About WordNerds
Formally known as the Case Writers' and Editors' Forum, we are a group of Case staff members who present the messages of the university to internal and external audiences. We are communications, marketing, public relations, Web, and news and information specialists who spend a lot of time thinking, writing, and editing.
Message to prospective members
Thank you for your interest in WordNerds!
Formally known as the Case Writers' and Editors' Forum, WordNerds—our listserv name—meets monthly from noon to 1 p.m. at a central location on the Case campus. Meeting notices are generally sent a week before the meeting and will include agenda topic and location.
Bring a lunch. Attend as your time permits to collaborate with other Case staffers, learn about university-wide initiatives and events, share ideas about processes and best practices, personal and professional successes, and meet others who appreciate the challenge of communicating the Case message in print, online or on the Web.
If you would like to get a taste of WordNerds before signing up for the listserv, please attend our next meeting on Wednesday, September 20, in Tomlinson Hall library. We will begin with a presentation by Trish Schrieber of Undergraduate Admission, followed by a roundtable discussion.
If you wish to join the listserv now, send e-mail to wordnerds@case.edu.
