day 2

So, I woke up rather early this morning and did absolutely nothing. Still no fan, which was harsh, but I basically spent 7:30 - 10:30 unpacking a bit more, watching episodes of family guy and relaxing.

10:30 is when I went down to register, which basically was just signing up for stuff for Welcome Days, which I wont be going to anyway because of case debate w00t.

I then took the opportunity to buy a fan and a long ethernet cable, which was good b/c I could a) stay cool and b) use my desk. So now, instead of looking like an idiot and laying on the bed trying to work, I can actually work. Tomorrow's purchase may or may not be computer speakers.

I came back and used the opportunity (we didn't have to show up again until 1pm) to iChat AV with dad, which worked amazing. Gigabit networks are good for something.

Proceeded back to thwing, met some guys from the night before and toured campus: veale, ksl and ate at wackadoos.

orientation started officially at 4, with a speech by a bunch of univ admins and then dinner, where our group fell apart and our leader ditched us. Then came skits, which basically amounted to "don't be a douchebag" - I enjoyed how they didn't condemn crunkery, just doing unsafe things while in the state. With 56% of students drinking/drugs, they really can't.

Then the entire group went and did a trivia game where you sat in a row in a auditorium and buzzed into the trivia things like you have at Bdubdub (BWW) but it had a live host and a finals where you could come down and buzz in. It was supposed to help you "make new friends" but in the end it was annoying.

Back in Taft, sat in the lobby listening to music with the building's RAs and a few other people.
Daily show rounded out the night and I'd write more but blaze is going to bed and I don't wanna be an ass and keep him up

ps, most of my entries probably wont detail everything in this much detail, just important points, but hey...maybe they will.
